Lotus Notes 6

We have an existing view that contains documents categorized by Completed Date. My users would like to enter a date range on a form and only show documents within that date range in the embedded view. So far, I have only been able to return a single date using the "Show Single Category" in an embedded view instead of an entire date range.
To set up a date range, do I need to create a button and agent to return the correct results? Do you have any pointers or examples of how this would be completed? Would the results show up in the current form? Or, is there an easier way to set this up using only the view and the form (no agent).

Thanks for the help!

There is no easy way to do that. From a design perspective, the request is unreasonable. They have a date range, since all they have to do is look at the categories that correspond to the dates they need.
In any case, Lotus does not yet allow for selective display of a subset of documents in a view - unless you work with the Full Text Search tool.

What you could do is create a script that inputs the start and end date, then constructs the query to find docs based on that date, then launches the search. The results should show up in the view.

Pascal.
