I use a tool at work that uses a combination of xml and xsl to produce a reports in word format.

We have a time stamp on the report, as below, which shows the

<w:t>June 2006</w:t>

The problem is, its freetext and I have to go in at the start of each month and change it, ie. on the 1st July I will change it to July 2006.

Is there code to do this automatically

Code to be coded where? in the existing xsl? in the "tool"? in an independent script?...

Change it physically to the xml file? change in xsl so that it makes the report appeared as if it is july?...
 
I change it in the exisitng xsl script every month

I think maybe you have already taken the best course of action suited to your environment---because I still draw a blank idea from reading your description. Maybe some other members can provide new insight on the matter.
