Date prompt default

Is there a way I can set a date prompt to default to a specific date other than the current day? For example, I'd like to be able to set the date prompt on a sales report to default to yesterday's date. I'd also like to set the value prompt for a financial report to default to the current quarter (Q2 2008, etc). My attempt at the default quarter was to hard key in the current quarter (2008 Q 2) but even that did not work properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you use Cognos 8, and have access to Cognos KB, try to search for HTML and Javascript keywords. There are many documents telling you how to set default values for many prompt types. You need to know a bit of JavaScript to customize the sample script to fit your report.

Thank you very much for the response. We have recently decided to stop using Cognos and go another direction, but hopefully someone else will find this thread helpful!
