I have a bound form in A2K. I have a command button to run code to backup my database. I would like to insert the current date into a text box and Save when I click the command button. I am having trouble doing this. I am assuming that I need this text box in the header or footer and have a new table to store this date. Thank you in advance.

To get the text box to display the current date, right click on it in design view, goto properties, then the data tab, set the default value equal to "Date()". I don't understand the rest of your post though, can you clarify?

Thank you for your reply. I must not have explained my problem. If I do what you suggest, I get the current date in the text box. I am trying to save the date that I clicked the BackUp Command Button. Example: If I backed up my database on 01/01/02, then that is the date that I want to see in the text box. If I back up the database yesterday, then I want to see 01/10/02.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

The easiest way is like you suggested. Create a table to store the "Last backup date". Your form's text box would be bound to that field.
Whenever you back up, set the value of the field to the current date. --------------
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
