Please how do I use shared variables to get my Dates from a sub report ?
The main report prompts for a Ship_Date parameter, but this table.column comes from the Subreport's view.
How do I use the shared variable?
How do I use this shared variable with the report expert ?
Do I still have to create a sub report link ?
Your expert solutions will be welcome.
I use Crystal Reports 7.

A link allows the parameter in the subreport to get a value from a field or parameter in the main report. This parameter can be used in formulas to controla selecting, sorting, Grouping and totals, among other things.

A shared variable can go both ways Passing values from main to sub and back again. But there are limitations on what you can do with it. You can pass your date either way, but it depends on what you want to do with the value in the subreport. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
