Date number in QPro9

I am running Corel Quattro Pro v 9 which used to work very well. Lately, I am having trouble entering dates. If I enter a date in an accepted format I get various results. Tonight I am getting "12/30" in the cell regardless of the date entered. In some of my spreadsheets, I get "12/30/1999". In the entry bar, instead of getting a date number, I get the date I enetered. Therefore, I can't do date calculations. I checked all the places to set date formats and they all agree [long international]. What happened??
