I created a database on windows 98 and the DATE is OK. I loaded it onto an NT machine and I get a halt saying use OPEN instead. OPEN gives me the date and time. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

It's probably a problem with the references. Open a module (or create a new one, you don't have to save it). Click on Tools... References... Select a reference that isn't checked (remember the reference). Close the references. Close the db. Reopen the db and go back to a module... Tools... References... and unselect the reference you checked earlier. Close the module and try running your code again.
