Date Function for a Report with only one date field

I'm very new to Filemaker Pro. I'm working on a time database that records what work is done by the members of our group over the course of each day.

We will want to do a report for a period of time, e.g. July 1 to August 31.

I only have one date field that uses creation date as its default. How would I go about creating a script that uses only this one date to find all of the activities within that period of time?

Everything that I find so far suggests that I need both a start and an end date field.

I'm not sure I understand the problem but you could perform a simple find by first getting into the FIND mode and then entering something like this:

7/1/2005...8/31/2005

Then press enter.

The found set should be those records that were created during that time period.

Was this a swing-and-a-miss?
