I recently installed Access 2000 on Windows 95 and transferred an application that I had developed on Windows 98. Much to my surprise, I could not get the Date() function to deliver the system date. I either get an error message or I get a null field. I haven't been able to pursue this problem extensively but I thought, perhaps, someone else might have encountered it.

It happened to me some time ago. I had to use Now() instead of Date() and it worked fine.

Later investigating found the explanation that the problem is usually caused by a missing library reference. Check to see if you have any library references marked "Missing"
