Our period end dates vary from month to month (e.g. July = 01/07/02-02/08/02, August = 03/08/02-30/08/02 etc).
I need to create a formula in a crosstab to pick up these "months" accordingly so that I can record sales for each period across the top. Can someone please tell me how I should do this?

Please help!
Thanks a lot.

I recently had a client that had this situation.

The easiest way to solve the problem (assuming that you have the access / ability to create a new table in the database) is to create a new database table that maps dates to period names. For example:

DATE PERIOD
-----------------
01/07/02 July
02/07/02 July
.
.
.
31/07/02 July
01/08/02 July
02/08/02 July
03/08/02 August

When writing reports based on the Periods you join this table to the other relvant tables in the report.

The best part of this solution is that the change of periods can be any day you like rather than fixed by rules set be a formula.

I hope this is a possible solution.
