Hi,

I need to create a version 7 report that will show me data for today (I guess that would be currentdate) and for Month To Date, which would need to reset at the first of the month. I will have one field which will show me how many items I have today and how many I have month to date and another field that will give me an amount for today and an amount for month to date. I am not sure how to go about it.

Thanks!

Here's what I would do. I'm assuming you only want totals for each scenerio you have listed above.

Use {date.field} in MonthToDate as the selection criteria for the dates to bring back.

Create a formula for each daily scenerio:
If {date.field} = CurrentDate then {info.field} (or calculation etc)

Create a formula for each MTD, or insert the field if you don't need to calculate anything.

Put both sets of formulas in your detail band.
Perform the summary operations.
Suppress the detail bands Mike

Well, I was told to group by a routing number and to list number of items and amount by today and month to date. I am not sure how I am going to even set this up yet. I have never done a crosstab report...would that be the better choice than a standard report?

The method I'm suggesting would look something like this if grouped corrctly.
PH Today's info MTD info
GH1 Routing Number
GH2 Item One totals 7 42
detail lines suppressed 2 2
5 5
0 35

GH2 Item Two
GH2 etc.

I don't work with cross tabs often, but I think they would be better only if you want to show information for each day of your MTD. Mike
