Date file modified reverts to 1/1/1985 in Office

We are using a Novell client 5.831 SP1 with Windows 2000 and both Office 97 and XP. When files are created in Word or Excel, periodically, the files list the file modified date as 1/1/1985. This error occurs only when you attempt to save the file to a network drive. We have attempted to modify the file and resave it, but the date stays. Any suggestions?

I have read somewhere that this is a bug with Novell client. Try re-installing it or upgrading it. "There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who understand binary numbers and those who don't."
