I need to write a simple program that checks the input date to see that it is valid....any help??
eg 30022001 would display incorrect..

Pedro,

Are you a pgmr? If so, show us what you've pgmed so far. If not, why do you care?

Hint: What month values are valid? What day values are valid?

Regards, Jack.

Hello Pedro

Send me your email address..
I would be pleased to send to you a cobol routine that check an input date with format DD/MM/YY and obtaining as resulting date DD/MM/YYYY..
You can input date from year 1950 to 2050....
It can be useful if you have some date calculation previous Y2k...

Regards
Gianni

What! Dude i thought this forum was for ppl that at least know something about cobol. I'm at my schools computer lab getting ready for my cobol final thats in a few mins. This is only my first semester of programing so i'm not claiming to know alot but a simple data validation program is really as easy as it gets. I really hope your job doesn't depend on this.
Hint: take a cheap class at a community college and you'l learn alot.
