Linux Sistems use a long counter as a date and time rappresentation, counting seconds from 1/1/1970

Does anybody know if there is the source code of this function available?

Thanks in advance

You're using Linux.
Linux comes with full source code.

You are right.

Actually I don't know where to find them (I use Redhat 8.0), and I guess it is not so easy to find the function in all the code....

Sorry but I have not this source.
All C language implementation (Unix,Windows-Dos,VMS...)
use this mechanism.
However, many years ago, I wrote programs using rotines time-related and I used system call and my self written routine.
Try to write a routine that counts the number of secs from 1970, Nx(3600x24x365...)it is not difficult: warnig olny the leap years.
bye
