In a datawindow I have a datawindowchild that requires an argument. This argument is supposed to be another column in the table (when data is being inputted by the user). When I retreive records from the database foe the datawindow the childdatawindow asks for an argument. How can i stop the child window from asking for an argument?

Hi,

In the RetrieveStart! event of the dw, use the PowerScript:

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////
dataWindowChild ldwc_Obj ;
//
IF This.GetChild( ldwc_Obj, <dddw col-name> ) > 0 THEN
ldwc_Obj.SetTransObject( SQLCA ) ;
ldwc_Obj.Retrieve( <arguments...> ) ;
END IF ;
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Regards,
