GPlains v6

I have been given the task of reviewing with the CFO and the IT Dir the access given to our users for certain things like Cards, Inventory Setup etc. In order for me to do this I have to go to Security and select each user, Product, Type and Series for each user we have. Then I have to do this again for each of the other security features I need to check. My question is can I access this information thru the database directly? I would much rather write a sql script and pull info this way. Looking thru the database so far in Dynamics I have not been able to find the table/s that would hold this information.

Also Note: We have a test system setup with current database and new v8 GPlains. Notice that this information is not any easier to extract from v8

Thank you for any guidence here.

I've tried to do this myself with the SY02000 table and gave up as it's a mess, especially if you have multiple products.

I would first start with the user classes setup (and use advanced secrurity) to see what each class has access to. You can then assign the classes to the users to ensure that they have what the class gives them access to.

I see what you mean about SY02000 (Yikes!) plus there is no documenation (well the documenation) does not specify what the field numbers ref so that makes it even harder.

We will be ready with v8 in a month. Guess the best thing to do now is just secure the very important areas and then when on v8 use Advanced Security.

Thanks for your help.

If you really need to see this before you upgrade to 8.0, I think there is a report you can get out of GP - it's going to be very lengthy, but has to be better than going through each user manually. I don't have 6.0 in front of me to verify this path, but I think it should be under Reports > System > users > User Security.
