If someone has seen this behavior before and knows how to fix it in Designer I will be forever grateful. (and if this is a simple question, thanks for obliging)

While building a job in Designer, I noticed suddenly that when clicking on the Transformer stage to edit, I was no longer seeing the views.

Usually, I see 4 panes in the editor. The bottom two panes list the links coming in to the stage and links coming out of the stage with the field definitions. The top two panes are the graphical representations of the links coming in. I can then drag one field from the input link on the left pane to the corresponding field in the output link on the right pane and enter whatever transformation I need to do in that field (ISNULL, etc).

Now, when I click on to edit the Transformation stage, I am seeing the bottom two panes but nothing on the top. No panes, no graphical representations of the tables. I can theoretically use the Auto-Match option, but it doesn't help me with any derivations I need to do. I have "Show All Relations" turned on.

I can't figure out what to do.
Any help will be welcome. As this is occuring on existing and new stages, all work is at a standstill.

This is typical (which I haven't been able to explain) Datastage behaviour, so dont give up hope. :) Try clicking on the lower panes with the source/target data structures or the "show links" button on the top line of buttons. Your source/target workspace should show up.

ive encountered this a couple of times (twice last week) and there seems to be no explanation.. could this be a bug?

nway, here's what i did --
notice that the scroll bar below the top graphical panes became narrower which in windows means there's lot of other stuff on the "other side"? it usually is located on the leftmost part so what you is drag it to the rightmost part (the other side, in this case) and wait a while (im working w/ a 212MB PC and it takes a couple of seconds) .. and just like that, your life's normal again =)

i hope this helps..

Hi,

I have found the answer for the problem. You must change the values of the base register. In the following entry :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ardent Software\DSDesign\Settings\Transformer]

write this values :

"State"="2"
"Left"="-60"
"Top"="-60"
"Width"="15480"
"Height"="11610"
"HSplitPos"="7470"
"VSplitPos"="8070"
"GTSplit"="334"
"SelectedRelations"="1"
"ShowStageVars"="0"
