I receive the following error when selecting the "Edit in Datasheet":

"The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of the following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows SharePoint Services is not installed, your browswer does not support ActiveX controls, or support for ActiveX controls is disabled."

I have a Windows 2000 machine with all the latest updates and have tried & verified all of the following steps:

1. Made sure Office 2003 Professional is installed.
2. Within IE 6, made sure that ActiveX was enabled.
3. Added site to "Trusted Internet Sites" within IE6.
4. Ensured all updates within Windows 2000.
5. Ensured all Pre-Office 2003 components are uninstalled.

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to fix this error so I can use the "Edit in Datasheet"?

Try going to control panel > add remove programs > windows components > nd make sure internet explorer enhanced security configuration is not installed. If it is remove it.

IE Enhanced Security Configuration" is not available under Windows 2000 (to the best of my knowledge). Any other suggestions?
