Hi Guys,

I have a table with just 2 datasets, which I have binded as a query to crystal reports version X. I also have 3 other tables binded. For some reason, which I don't understand I get the 2 datasets displayed 4 times..giving me the 2 data sets repaetedly in the detailed section. Why is this? I don't really know what information I need to give. The query is in access. The table is a linked table from Oracle.
Please help.
Thanks

Crystal works by assembling a 'row', which is a valid combinations of the linked record. It rather depends what you've linked. A common solution is to group and suppress the detail lines, just showing the group header or footer.

Incidentally, not everyone here is male. Often it's not clear from the 'handle', but one gets excellent advice from female contributors.

sorry if u feel offended.Where I come from Guys refers to men & women..We very rarely use the more literal appropriate form of guyesses, but I wil make of this.

The table is an oracle link, but the point is there are only 2 datasets, I don't understand why I get 4 times the 2 datasets present in my linked table from oracle to access. in Access I see 2 datasets.

I have done as you suggested, and it works perfectly. Thank you, Madam C!:)

Hi all,

I've just realised that as long as my data connection only refers to one table it gives me th 2 datasets as it is supposed to. When I later at another query to the database field I get the datasets 4 times. Why? I don't really want to work eith groups if I can avoid it.
Thanks

'Madawc' is a Welsh name, and I'm male. Thanks for the star, though.
