Hi

Anyone got any opions on the table adapter (Dataset designer) vs hand coding ado.net.

 
Personally, I don't like the drag/drag type controls as they give you much less control and flexibility. I prefer to use a data layer and I use the enterprise library from MS.

I agree with Mark on this. Typed datasets is what MS Examples and help files push, but they are not flexible. For small apps they may be great.

but for larger apps a solid DAL tool is the way to go. Google DAL "OR Mapper". There are many open source, and 3rd party tools designed to produce DAL.
