I can't find any help on this. The one example says to use an ado data control, and set the datasource property of the datagrid to the control.

I'm sorry but there is no "datasource" property of the datagrid on my form. The data tab only has "Ole Class" and "Class" but no control source or data source or anything like in VB.

Am i using the wrong datagrid maybe?

thanks.

Why a datagrid? You could create a subform viewed as datasheet or format a continuous subform to look like as datasheet. The recordset for the subform could be created on the fly or use a saved query/table!

That is what I had, but I wanted to add an unbound field, and this cannot be done using continuous forms.

If I have an updatable datagrid, then I don't need the unbound textbox.

I think I will use VB6 instead.

If you go VB6, MSFlexGrid control is more flexibe than datagrid. And dont forget to register that control to your users....

But I dont know why an unbound field

I read it on here, that you can't put an unbound field because it will put the same value on every record.

I put a subform back on my form and used datasheet view, however I don't know how to change the column widths and font size, or how to change the order of the fields, if I add a field from another table it puts it at the far right.

I don't think an MSFlexGrid is updatable, is it? I recently took a course where we could choose between FlexGrid and datagrid, and I just found the datagrid made alot more sense to me (and looked alot nicer).

thanks.
