I have been using my footer as a sort of add new record feature. Today I discovered an article that shows you how to display a "total" field in the footer. Any ideas on how I could do both of these? My add new record feature works a little different than usual. There is an "add" button outside of the datagrid. When the user clicks on it, a new, blank, dataview is bound to my datagrid and it displays the footer. Then when they add the new record, the previous datagrid is shown and the footer is hidden....hope that makes sense....

How about rendering a table in the footer template? It could have 2 rows: 1 for the first "footer", and a second for the other. If you want to hide one of the cells, you can simply run the table rows as server controls and set the visibility of a row to false in ItemDataBound if certain conditions are met or something.

Ha! That sounds like a great idea! I'll give that a try! Thanks!!
