Hi all, Please help me with this conversion problem.
When displaying 'char' or 'varchar' field from SQL table with Access form + underlied source = SQL odbc linked table. Access will report the length of the field equal the length of the characters stored in SQL field.
To add character to Access field on the displayed form, I have to Press INSERT key to make Access letting new characters to be typed and registered.
Please let me know if you have come across this problem. Any suggestion are appreciated.

Check the topic "SET ANSI_PADDING (T-SQL)" in SQL Books Online. "SET ANSI_PADDING (T-SQL)" controls the way the column stores values shorter than the defined size of the column, and the way the column stores values that have trailing blanks in char, varchar, binary, and varbinary data.

ODBC SETS ANSI_PADDING on by default.

I hope this helps. Terry
