Guys,

Im sorry I dont know that much about SQL......

Is it an insainly bad idea to have SQL on one server but the databases residing on a network drive??

Is it even possible??

Any input would be appreciated.

no, the datafiles have to reside on a drive on the server, you cant create dbs on mapped network drives or UNC paths
