I have rececntly inherited administration of an system using DBS V6.1. The system is a WinNT workstation SP6. A database on the system has the unusual copepage setting of 437 with Codeset IBM-437. When trying to "restore to new" or new database from backup, the difference in codepage of the backup image "437" to the standard 1252 setting keeps generating the errors. I have tried creating a database manually using 437 as the codepage but without success. I've tried to change the DB2CODEPAGE setting using the CHCP command to 437 but a message "codepage 437 not prepared for system".

Is the 437 codepage associated with the OS/2 operating system?

Hello Sprivet,

Look in the help of the NT operating system (codepage as keyword). There is a note about editing the config.sys file. Maybe that will shed some light (relation with OS/2) T. Blom

We use the 437 codepage on our Windows clients. It allows to converse with our MVS DB2 databases (DRDA connectivity through a DB2 Connect gateway).

I am not sure why you have a codepage 437 for a Windows database?
