Hi There,

My database window has dissapred when opening up one of my databases (its only this database it does it with).

I have tried holding shift and hitting F11 etc - and even clicking the "database window" button.

I had thought that it had maybe just been pushed of screen as i switch between an external monitor and my laptop screen itself, but ive tried various different things to get it back - with no success.

The database functions corectly - so the tables exist etc, I just cant access them :(

I have no special startup instructions, other than th show a dashboard.

Any help you can give woudl be greatly appreciated. Its access 2003.

many thanks,
Neil

Close all the open objects you can see.

The application window probably has scroll bars. If I am right, you can keep scrolling down and right and the application window will keep getting smaller (same size on your screen) because there are no objects in the empty space. I don't know what it's called but the bar on the scroll bar that shows the relative position should be getting bigger.

If that is not it, try holding shift when you open the database to bypass startup issues.

Hi Lameid,

Thanks for getting back to me.

There is on scroll bar (Horizontal) and is very small. Ive tried as you said on the scroll button - but there is no change to the scroll bar :(

I;ve tried the shift thing - no joy :(

Is there a file that resides somewhere i can delete that will reset the layout?

thanks,
neil

The closest you are going to find to a reset is creating a new database file and importing everything to it.

You will have to select all the object types but there is a select all for each type. If you have toolbars or import/export specifications you have to set that at the bottom (I think it is a button but I'm not looking at it). The only thing it can't get is Startup properties so you will have to set those manually. If it so happened that the user you are using did not have read data and read design permissions where appropriate, you would not be able to import that/those objects.

hi lameid - i ended up importing all my tables which worked a treat.

thanks for your valuable help,
Neil
