I have a security of Aloha 5.2 that's just being used for testing stuff in house, not a live system (one of the stores closed).

Don't have a 5.2 cd, but we do have the bin files that it was running when the store was shut down.

What I would formally do in this situation is use a 5.3 cd, then go backdate the bin directory to 5.2 files it needed.

I am getting an error message that says the database is not current when I go to open Aloha Manager. How I can fix this?

Will running the dbup3 work?

Thanks

Run the dbconfig and be sure to force the upgrade on NEWDATA AND DATA. I think it defaults to Newdata...

Posknowitall,

As usual, you nailed it my friend.

Thanks for help, you're gem...

Hi there.. "posknowitall"....
I would appreciate it if you could more elaborate the "force the upgrade on NEWDATA AND DATA" part.
Thanks. i am facing the same problem by the way... and i already had run the dbconfig located in the bin right?
Whats next? Why am i still seing this: "DB version not current. Run DB Upgrade" ?
Thanks a million bro,,,

oh.. ok .. i think i got what you meant .. Well, i did that, however a new pop up error now showed, stating: "Invalid RDB Type Defined in SQL.ini" :s
I know... you might find me a pain in the a**... but am desperately in need of resolving this restaurant's issue..
I guess this sql.ini files is missing some info. Plus the files here have been messed up in an unprofessional way, before i got here. Luckily all old data are backed up. Now, can you help me proceeding from this point bro?
Thanks... a lot

Heres the content of the SQL.ini file (located in E:\alohaapp\aloha\sql.ini):

[IbertechSQL]
RDBTYPE=Unsupported
GRINDTIMEINTERVAL=0
GRINDTABLESENABLED=FALSE
SQLSERVERNAME=
DBUSERNAME=
DBPASSWORD=
CREATESCRIPTS=FALSE
SQLSERVERPATH=
SQLSERVERRELATIVEPATH=
SQLDEBUGMSGS=FALSE
EOD=0000
NUMGRINDS=0
SHARENAME=
STOREDEFAULT=0
DIRPURGEDAYS=0
MINUTESPERINTERVAL=0
USETESTDATA=FALSE
SQLDIRECTUPDATES=FALSE
DATASOURCE=
DATABASENAME=

I feel it is not what it should look like. I made sure that the ibersql.mdb access file is present in the same folder as the sql.ini file. Please help me fill the missing/wrong data in this file in order to proceed...
Appreciate that big time...

I am using Aloha 5.3 and need to correct the DOB on the system as i grinded the sytem twice on the same date and now its a day ahead of the actual day...any easy way to rectify

regards

Leboneserod--Wish I could help you there. I have never seen that error ever when running a dbupgrade.
Mer112--Go into Newdata\aloha.ini and change the date of business there. Refresh Data. You should then be on the correct DOB. Be sure to delete the extra dated folder from Aloha.
