Hi,
My organisation is looking to get Ciscoworks 2000 for config up/download, inventory and other bits and pieces...

Could anyone tell me roughly how big the ciscoworks database is per device....... We have approx 350 plus devices and we just wanted to roughly size the server capacity/backup etc...

Many thanks in advance.

Matt

CW wants an 80Gb partition for the database, but your 650 devices will not need nearly that. Depending on the number of modules/solutions you use and how often you purge your database, I don't see you needing any more than one gig of space.

Hi,

You definitley won't need anywhere near the amount of disk space recommended by Cisco, but you are best to fall in to line with their recommendations to avoid support issues at a later stage.

Cisco do not publish a per device figure unfortunately.

Also, the amount of disk space required will also depend on factors such as how many database backup versions you intend to keep on the hard drive of yours server.

The minimum specs are posted at :

Many thanks for both your replys....

Could you give me a rough sizing for approx 300 devices with config downloads once a week stored for 6 months???

Obviously the db size would depend on the config size etc... but a rough size would be helpful...
