Generally it is advisable to do as much processing as possible at server side (i.e. with Crystal it is usually the database server). But with CR Server, is there any difference (performance-wise) whether you use database functions or crystal functions? In either way, the processing is at "server side" (one or the other), right?

Hi,
They are totally different 'creatures'..The CR server's code is optimized for processing Crystal reports while your database's is optimized ( or should be) for efficient record selection/retrieval..

It is ALWAYS better to have the processing done by the ( properly configured and tuned) database engine for all processing that can be done there.
