Database ?'s

I'm a bit confused about how to open a database. I'm using ADO and I don't know if I can use the CDatabase class or the CDataSource class. Which one can/should I use. I know that you can use CDatabase for ODBC, but I'm not using that. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
