I'm somewhat new to the Microsoft Jet aspects of Access, so I am looking for some help.

I am supporting an Access-based system that consists of 4 databases that are Design Masters, which are replicated and distributed to remote users. Data is imported to the DM databases from an AS/400, while the remote users do their own updates and then synchronize periodically.

The error 3521 "Two members of the replica set cannot be synchronized because there is no common point to start the sychronization" occurs frequently, and I am unable to determine why specifically. I have checked several reference books, even Microsoft's web site, but there is nothing that jumps out. The only possibility is the way compaction is being done: the "gatekeeper" (as she is called) compacts each DM database separately after importing the AS/400 data.

Any clues or tips would be greatly appreciated.
