Hi,

I understand that there is a way to run a database procedure through Pre/Post Statements. Question is how to pass the report parameters (user prompt values) as arguments to the procedure.

It doesn't matetr to me whether I use "Pre" or "Post" sections. So, any tip would be appreciated.

Thanks,

depends on what the parameters are you want to pass...

I usually suggest that folks create a procedure that can be accessed from WITHIN sql, and then call it from an applysimple metric.

eg. the proceduce is SendMessageToBoss(Message) make sure that it returns a value like 1 for success, 0 for failure. then create a metric M1 applysimple("sendmessagetoBoss(#0)",?PromptName). Then add M1 to a report.
