Database Problems

Using Version 9.0 and I cannot merge Arcserve tapes into my database though I could previously. I keep getting catlogue errors. Veritas have helpfully suggested I trash the database and start again. The utility tools do absolutely nothing so I am going to have to start again with the database. What I do want to do is save the backup jobs I have created as they cover many servers, credentials etc.

Any help etc.
