I am trying to link tables by smart key link and I am getting this message (unable to smart link unliked tables, foreign key relationships may not to be present for the tables,or the database not support the retrieval of this information)
and i do not want to smart link key by field names. Please I need help.

Hi,
I never used CR's smart link but created the links myself..It is not one of CR's best features and requires that the databsse be set up with Primary-->Foreign keys for all the tables.

Just select the fields that you want to use in the join.

As I like to say, Smart Linking isn't smart. Crystal rarely gets it right. I have been working in Crystal for @16 years and I ALWAYS build my own links.

To turn off SmartLinking, go to the File menu and select Options (not Report Options!) Go to the Database tab and turn off Automatic Smart Linking. This will turn it off for all future new reports.
