After running sql server 2000 backup, there were errors when the engine came back up for one of the databases including msg 3448, 3314, 9001, and 9004. When we attempted to open the database, we received the error: <database> is suspect.

Now the database no longer exists in SQL server. All other databses are fine, but this particular one is not listed. The actual file is still there, but it is no longer recognized by SQL server.

Any ideas?

i suppose you could try attaching it, or restoring a backup if there are problems. But copy out the mdf file to someplace else before you try doing anything. ive seen this happen before but i luckly had a backup i was able to use to recreate it. I was able to recreate it using a backup.

Did you try to reinstall whole SQL Server 2K, then this happen.

you can try this, create database name same as before and then restore that database with backup database.
