I have a database with name IE2.4 on SQL 7.0.
When i try to run Import/Export wizard on a table on this db, i get the following message :

Error MSG : Error Source Microsoft OLE DB provider For SQL Server
Error Description : Unspecified Error
Could not find server IE2 in sysservers. Execute sp_addlinkedserver to add the server to sysservers.
Context : Error Calling GetRowset to get DBSchema_tables schema info. Your provideer does not support all the schema rowset required by DTS.

Is there any workaround or setting i can do so that import/export works fine with this db.

Try enclosing the database name in brackets [IE2.4]. You should avoid using periods in server, table and object names. SQL Server uses the period as a delmiter for names. When you attempt to use the name IE2.4, SQL will interpret that as server name = IE2 and database name = 4. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA
