Help!
i have problems merging tapes among other things. Even with pruning every night, i believe the database is corrupt. When this happens, i remove all the tapes then manually clean the database.

I do this by going in and deleting all the media and job records from the database console. This sometimes takes a few hours.

Is this a good way to clean out the database? Is there a faster way to clean the database of all records?

thanks to all who respond.

Using the ARCserve server admin, you can initialize the ASTPSDAT db. This one holds all your file and folder details.

Try running the DB maintenance progs suggested on the AS200 support pages (dbcheck, dbfix etc) assuming your dbases are VLDB.

Should at least give you an idea if they are knackered.
