A server at my company, run by a different department, has a server that logs into my system and gathers data from an informix database.

I don't see the login they are using as accessing the system if I finger the login.

The administrators said that it logs into the database not the unix environment? Is there any log that I can view that will show me this logins activity in the system?

Favorite all too common vendor responses: "We've never seen this issue before." AND "No one's ever wanted to use it like that before.

Unless you can place a wrapper around the database listener in some way, you would do better to search the database or listener logs.

Annihilannic.

I believe (my guess) that some Informix can use pam modules, which would log "auth" by syslog but you need to ask your DB guys.
