Hi,I am using Crystal Reports Server XI,using a SQL Server 2000 Database and I am running Crystal Reports XI on a Windows XP PC.

I can log on to the repository and save my Reports but when a User logs on view Infoview and tries to schedule a report unless you actually add the database Username & password the report will not run.

Can I setup Crystal Reports Server XI to include the Username & Password so that the user does not have to enter it.

Go into the CMC and add in the database connectivity, once you do that (and make sure you turn off the prompt user), it will work as you expect.

Hi synapsevampire, I have logged into the CMC and had a look in all of the folders, sorry for being a thicky but where exactly can i set the database connectivity.
Is it is Universe Connections? as I cannot see any way of adding it from here or am i looking in the wrong folder.

I don't have it in front of me, but you would select the report itself, not a folder, and you'll see various groups of settings in tab format along the top, within each are various attributes, one is the database connectivity.

Hi,
In the report's folder, click on the report..There will be a TAB labeled 'Process' - inside there will be a Database tab that has the info about what database connection information to use when the report is run.
Be sure to uncheck the 'prompt user for login' box after setting the info needed.

Hi TurkBear & Synapsevampire,
I am logged in to the CMC for Business Objects Enterprise and I get the following folders:

Folders
Objects
Groups
Users
Server Groups
Servers
Categories
Personal Categories
Inboxes
Universe Connections
Universes
Calendars
Events
Settings
BOE Applications
License Keys
Authenication

I have gone into Objects which is where the Reports are held and I cannot find anything there to do with database connection.do you know whereabouts the database connection settings are in this version. I loaded Crystal Reports Server XI bit it comes up with BO Enterprise.

Thermalman

Under OBJECTS open the specific Report Object that is giving you the issue.

Click on the PROCESS tab, then select DATABASE from the list shown on that tab.

The frame will then be headed with "Set the default information for logging onto the data source(s) automatically whenever the report is run."

Make the changes that the others suggested and click UPDATE.

You will need to do this for each Report Object.

Yup, but it didn't seem explicit enough for Thermalman.....since he posted every option in the CMC.

Hi,
He is also confused about the difference between CMC areas and Report Folders..( I almost never go into Oblects for report info since we have so many)
