Hi

What you mean, "database file" ?

The database is composed by many files. Only the directory is specified when starting the server by the -D flag or by the value of [tt]PGDATA[/tt] environment variable.

Client applications should only know the socket where the server listens for connections.

I never used [tt]pgadmin[/tt] but as far as I know, it is just a simple client. In which case you have to specify only where to connect.

Feherke.
