database limitaion

i have exchange server 2003(sp2). as i know there is limitation in database size which is about 70GB.

now my question is that what if my database size reaches to that size,what is the solution, my company has about 130 users,so averagelly they could have 500 MB limitation.
i need to know any solution for this case

Drop the limit per mailbox. and/or drop the deleted item retention period.

Options include upgrading to Enterprise Edition and adding more databases/storage groups.

I think if your database reaches that limit it will stop responding. Make sure you plan ahead way before that happens. Enterprise does not have that limit, but Im not sure what the enterprise limit is.

If you reach the limit, the database will dismount, and no one gets to their mail.

ok suppose i have reached the limit of database and i have enterprise edition. so i have add a new MailBox Store. i have about 100 mailbox on Storage No:1, by adding the Storage No:2 what happens if

1- one of the existed account gets email?

2- i create a new email account? all email should be stored in STorage no:2?

It's real simple if you set mailbox limits so that the combined total cannot exceed the maximum database size.

An "offline" defrag of your store can drastically reduce your size too.

An offline defrag does nothing for you as far as amount of data in the database. NOTHING. It merely reduces whitespace, which doesn't count towards mailbox limits.

And with Enterprise, you're not going to hit a database limit.
