hi,
i created a database that has about ten forms on it for user to use. everything was woking fine on it yesterday. i made a copy of it and then converted that copy into an mde file. after playing around on the mde file for a little bit, i noticed a couple of bugs in my database that i wanted to fix but now when i go to the original database, everything freezes up eveytime i hit a close form command button or an open form command button. does anyone know why that is? i didnt change any of the code behind these buttons and i've even put new command buttons on my forms to open and close forms and they still make the database freeze up. is there a common reason why this happens and if so is there any way to fix it?

Hi drrocket5292,

i've noticed MS Access applications freezing when they're achieving the size of 20 MB. Compact and repair helped to sort this out.

Sometimes I've also noticed MS Access apps having strange way not always making connection to tables, and at these times apps have crashed. Re-opening has helped to this an issue.

If I am having these kinds of problems, I will create a new database and import the objects into it. I will import in the tables first, then compact it. Then do the same with reports, forms and modules. Test it as you go, importing a little at a time so you can locate the problem.
