Hi,

I am using Crystal Report 8 and database as SQL Server 2000.One of my tables is having a field of type NTEXT.While adding this table to report, I am getting the following error message -

Unicode data in a unicode-only collation oe ntext data cannot be sent to clients using DB-library(such as ISQL) or ODBC version 3.7 or earlier.

How to solve this problem so that I can use this table in report? Please guide me.

Thanx in advance

As the error implies, you probably have an old version of ODBC (CR 8 is 3 versions old now).

Try upgrading your SQL Server ODBC driver, however you may experience other difficulties as SQL Server 2000 didn't yet exist when CR 8 came out.

Time to consider upgrading...

Another option is to create a View on the database and cast the data type as another type, such as a varchar.

Hi,

Thanx for quick reply.I think, creating view is better solution.I was also thinking about the same.Anyway, can you tell me whether I can download SQL Server 2000 ODBC driver from Microsoft site or not.If Yes, then can you give me URL.I want to try first option also.

With rgds
