Greetings,

I am using a program called Perceus Survey Solutions 7, which creates surveys and also sets up the corresponding database on a mysql server and publishes the files.

I have an ODBC instance of the MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver setup, and when I run the Test Data Source, it states it successfully connected.

When I am in the program, there are tools to access the database. When I attempt to, I get the error:

Database Error
Error connecting to the database using <db name>|<db user>|<db psw> as the DSN.
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified.

I contacted the vendor, but they are slow to respond since this product is being sunsetted. I don't think this is specific to the program though. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

- Dan

Do you actually have a DSN for the connection declared in admin tools?

Did you hear about the Buddhist who refused Novocain during a root
canal? He wanted to transcend dental medication.

Yes, found the problem was that the DSN name had to be in the DSN field instead of the database name. DSN was not available in the pulldown, I didn't realize I could manually put something in that field, now it works.

Thanks for the reply.

SWEET!!!
