In Arcserve 2000 I was attempting to initialize the databases. The job and tape engine stopped as they should but the database enigine hung in stopping mode. It will not completely stop and it will not restart. Trying to stop and start the server's Acserve services didn't produce any results. Can someone please advise me on this matter.

Stop RDS.exe in the task manager and restart all the engines.
Make sure all the engines are UP in running while you init the database.....
