Hi friends & Gurus:

I am having a hard time getting the Database engine to start. Each time, I was given the error message "error 2140-internal NT error". I have tried everything suggested in the threads, shutting/restarting the services, changing usernames, etc... but none seems to work.

One user suggest that I re-initialize the database. Well, when I clicked on the Operation tab, I was given only one option: start engine. The Initialize option was grayed out. Any idea how I can get this problem fixed. The Tape & Job engine work fine.

We use ARCserve 2000 Advanced Edition on WinNT 4.0

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Jon

I got it figured out. Simply remove the three following files:

1) rAAAAAAAA.chg
2) rdm.chi
3) rdm.chk

and reboot the server, and that was it. I did stop/start the engine service on several occasions w/out any problem. Thanks for the help anyway.
