Has anyone ever experienced an Access crash that has caused forms, reports, macros, and module objects to be deleted? I would be grateful to hear any thoughts on the matter. I have a database with approximately 60 tables, 60 queries, 50 forms, and 20 reports. Upon opening it after some sort of crash, all of the forms, reports, macros, and module objects were GONE. Thank you.

Greetings Micah68,

The EXACT same thing happend to me today. When I try to open the .mdb it tells me I don't have permission to compact/repair. Are you seeing the same message? Also, Do you see any tables what-so-ever ?

Micah68,

Did you ever find a resolution? Ours was rather nasty. We have had db corruption before but not like this. The mdb could not be repaired so we had to purchase an application that magically was able to. It costs us $300 but it was almost worth it. Although we were able to get back the data, all the indexs were removed and a few of the tables did not make it.
But I was able to use a back up from the day before and export the missing data from the restored db.

It's been a looooong day.

Hope yours worked out.

None of my tables or data were corrupted, fortunately! But approximately 50 objects (mostly forms and reports) were simply deleted from the database. One user was merely entering records in an unrelated table when this happened. I am wondering if the mSysObjects table somehow became corrupted? Does anyone have experience with this? 90% of the help I can find on database corruption deals only with the data. TY very much.

Do you have a recent backup? You can just export the forms and such to the front end missing said stuff.

Is your database split?

The database is not split. Yes, I had a backup and was able to import all of the objects into a new, clean database, a process which I believe rebuilds all of the system tables.

But I am trying to figure out the source of this problem. So does anyone have specific information on the corruption of the system tables or knowledge of what might cause forms and reports to simply be deleted in a database? TY very much.
