According to the book, the 4.5 database will be automatically upgraded as part of the upgrade procedure.
Here's a quote from the software upgrade book
'Upgrades to Avaya CS 1000 Release 7.5 are supported
on Release 23 or later.
Database conversion for Meridian 1 Options 21E, 51,
61,71, STE, NT and XT must be completed by Avaya
Software Conversion Lab. Consult the current Avaya price
book for cost and contact information.
If the system is equipped with IOP/CMDU cards the
database must be converted with the Database Transfer
utility.
All systems can be converted by Avaya in the software
conversion lab.'
So unless your system is one of the types specifically mentioned above, the database will automatically convert.
Yes, it did convert it over but not as IPMG's, it converts with the old equipment so you have to out or move everything to convert it to IPMG loops. That was my question, is there another way?
You'll be rekeying most of the system. There isn't any way to get the hardware differences such as superloops, T-1/PRI loops and what not to convert from a 61C/81C/CS1000SG/CS1000MG to the 1000E platform. As you're finding, you'd have to build the new superloops as an IPMG type then move the phones to the new superloops, out the old loops and what not.
That's the worst, and you have to out all of the PRI's and ADAN because you can't remove them converting them over. They should come out with a faster way to do this, You might as well build it from scratch.
