I just installed a copy of Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on Windows 2K Pro. However when it went through the Database configuration assistant, it gave me this error:

Database Configuration Assistant: Error
invalid entry size (expected 41951232 but got 419512230 bytes)

I finished the installation of everything else and tried to start the Database Configuration Assistant again, the status bar indicated 19% complete and it ended up giving me the same error. Does anyone experience this problem? Your help/suggestion is greatly appreciated.
TIA

You are trying to use some parameters with wrong values.

List all field values you entered step-by-step and maybe it is possible for us to help you. Regards

! If you can't prove it - don't bother try to teach me !

Looks like your software is corrupted. Try to install again with the original CD.

Thank you all for your response. I use Database Configuration Assistant to create a database, it doesn't require for me to enter any values. Although, you probably able to change the values of the parameters. I did not change anything. I accept all default values. I did not write a script to create a database. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Hi

It does not sound as a corrupt software installation, but I have no ideas - you do of cause have lots of free disk space?

It's a brand new machine. Pent IV, 512 RAM, 60gig hardrive. I can't imagine this is isn't enough to run Ora9i. I saw others posted at the Oracle sites with the same problem. But no one seems to have a solution.

Sorry, have you any solution of that problem ?
I have the same problem, but after reinstallation
(and first time it was OK).
Thanks before,
NK

Thanks a lot, there are many interesting things
at metalink.oracle.com
But how can I find the solution of MY problem ?!?

Thanks, but if somebody knows about MY problem,
please, tell me. I have not Petium IV. But I have
the same message : "Error invalid entry size
(expected 41951232 but got ....... bytes).
The first number is the same,
the second number is different.
