I created new windows 7 Pro virtual server and installed a fresh copy of micros 3700 5.4.1 MR1 with default settings.
I have current micros 3700 server which is having issues but running.
What are the best methods to restore DB and any other config files to this NEW micros server so that it can be in production exactly the same configuration, license keys, and other important settings?
thank you all.

is your current server running the same version of micros as your Virtual? if not you have to upgrade the DB from your current server.

also you have to check if you have any custom scripts or reports on the current server and copy them across to the virtual on the same directory as the server , assuming that you have your virtual installation directories matching your server.

Thanks for the response.
The current DB version is 5.1 build 1115,hotfix: 201
New version is: 5.4 MR1, Build 2276.
1. Do I still need to upgrade the DB?
2. If yes, what is the process, please?
thank you so much

How do i find out if i have any custom scripts or reports?
Where should I look for those? If yes, what is the process of bringing those to this new upgrade?
thanks again.

Yes you have to upgrade

I will do some screenshots for you later in the evening to help with the steps

Hi Jackba,
Any updates on screenshots, please?
Any help will be appreciated.
thanks

just make a backup of the database, transfer it to your VT then, In your VT CMD, type DM -U "path to database"

It will upgrade
